Solid Timber Flooring is made from a single piece of hardwood, typically 19mm thick. It can be sanded and polished multiple times over its lifetime and offers a timeless, high-end finish.
Engineered Timber Flooring is made from a real timber veneer (usually 3–6mm thick) bonded to a stable plywood or HDF core. It’s more cost-effective, quicker to install, and performs better in environments with changing humidity.
In short:
Choose solid if you want a long-lasting, traditional floor that can be refinished many times.
Choose engineered if you want a similar look at a lower cost.
We use modern dust-extraction equipment to minimise dust, but a light film of dust is still expected. We recommend covering sensitive electronics and removing or protecting nearby furniture and surfaces.
Not always, but we do recommend staying elsewhere during coating, especially during final coats, to avoid walking on the floor or affecting the finish. Also, some areas may be blocked off completely during drying.
In most cases, yes. We’ll assess your current floor and do our best to match timber species, board size, and finish. Some variation is natural with timber, but we’ll advise you on the best approach.
We are often booked several weeks (or months) in advance, especially during peak seasons. We recommend booking as early as possible. We also maintain a cancellation list for urgent or flexible jobs.
